A Working Parent's Experience

A Working Parent's Experience

How Involving My Kids in My Small Business Benefits Everyone:

As a working parent and small business owner, it can be challenging to balance the demands of running a company with the responsibilities of raising children. But what if you could find a way to involve your kids in your work and teach them valuable skills at the same time? That's exactly what I've done at Amyah, and I couldn't be happier with the results.

Meet Diya and Nyvaan, my two children and valuable members of the Amyah team. At just 6 months old, Diya is already showing an interest in the toys that my team and I create for our brand. When it's time to shoot a new catalog or create a reel, she gets to be a part of the fun, playing with the toys and showing off her adorable smile for the camera. Her natural curiosity and playful nature make for great behind-the-scenes footage, and it's heartwarming to see her enjoying herself while we work.

At 6 years old, Nyvaan is already a seasoned pro when it comes to toy sorting and inventory management. He helps us keep track of all the toys we create, counting them and double-checking our stock to make sure we always have enough on hand. He's even learned how to use basic Excel and sustainable lifestyle practices to help preserve nature. Seeing him take pride in his work and knowing that he's learning valuable skills that will serve him well in the future is incredibly rewarding.

Of course, involving your kids in your work isn't just about getting extra help or keeping them occupied. It's also an opportunity to teach them about the importance of sustainability and eco-friendly practices. At Amyah, we're committed to using environmentally responsible materials and minimizing waste wherever possible. By involving my children in this mission, I'm helping to instill in them a sense of responsibility for the planet and a desire to live in harmony with nature.

Overall, I'm so grateful to have my kids on board at Amyah. Not only do they make our work more fun and efficient, but they're also learning valuable skills and gaining a deeper appreciation for the world around them. If you're a working parent, I encourage you to find ways to involve your own children in your work. Whether it's helping out with small tasks, participating in creative projects, or learning about sustainability, there are so many opportunities to make your work a family affair. And who knows? You might just discover some unexpected benefits along the way.
